About Collett Smart

Collett Smart is both a registered psychologist and a qualified teacher, recognised for her work as a speaker, writer and parenting consultant. She has been working with families for almost 20 years and has had the unique opportunity of working with children and teens in Australia, the UK and Africa.

Both personal and professional experience has provided Collett with a deep insight into the way parents and children interact on multiple levels. This has led to solid and practical insights, which significantly improve the quality of both parent and child well-being.

Collett is the founder and director of Family Smart and is also involved in child advocacy work. She is in demand as a presenter, facilitator and trainer and offers support to parents through consultations, corporate events and school seminars.

Her professional advice is regularly sought in the media; appearing on Channel 7 News, Sunrise, The Morning Show, Today Tonight and Channel 10 News, as well as on radio.

Collett is married with 3 children, who keep her real. She holds a Bachelor of Education degree, as well as an Honours Degree in Psychology with a specialisation in 'Special Needs' and is currently completing her PhD at Macquarie University.
